Chinese Celebrities Glam Out for #TencentVideoAll-StarNight 2020

I do my best to resist posting two pictorial faves on the same day, but I couldn’t hold back after seeing all the stunning photos of celebrities at Tencent Video All-Star Night 2020. Due to the number of pictures I have to share, I will be using the slideshow format, + I might also have to split this post into two parts. Enjoy😍

(Please Note: none of these images are mine. I got them from official magazine websites and social media sites.)

Dilraba Dilmurut served queen vibes for her first outfit, and the second look was equally beautiful –

Zhao Lusi was the prettiest angel with her first look. Then she went traditional for her performance outfit –

Wang Yibo arrived at the event dripped in Chanel. I believe he had three different looks, but I’ll just be sharing my two favourites –

Xiao ZhanΒ came through!!! I love the way they took his pictures. The background and lighting was perfect + he looked stunning in every shot –

Zhao Liying had three dress changes, but my favourite is her first outfit: the gorgeous black + gold embroidered Georges Hobeika gown. The blue Dior gown was also a great look for her –

Victoria SongΒ served legs + Chanel for the red carpet. She is captivating in the black gown –

Yang Zi was giving me fairy vibes with her gown and aesthetics for these pictures –

Arthur Chen had two looks for the event, and he suited up in both –

Leo Luo also graced the event in a suit, and as expected, he looked great –

Wang Zhuocheng probably didn’t change outfits because this is the only look I found for him –

Bambi Zhu stayed within the standard two change of outfits. I prefer her in the brown ball gown –

Tiffany Tang is also another celeb that impressed me more with her second look. She severed sparkling beauty queen vibes –

Liang Jie served classic beauty with her first look. The white gown did justice to her body, and I couldn’t stop staring –

Second to last on this 1st part compilation is Ryan Ding, and he got quite creative with his photos by including his prepping stage –

To close, I have Kris Wu’s two looks for the event, and my favourite is the black blazer outfit –

Victoria Song – VICTORIA: Album Review

Classes are back in session, so I have been a bit tight on time, but let’s see what I can get done before going to bed.

Finally, Victoria Song’s 1st solo album is available on international platforms, so I am here to give my review. I already reacted to the title track. That post is available with this link πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Victoria Song – Up To Me: Music Review

(Please note – this is a real-time review, meaning I am typing down my exact thoughts while listening to each song.)

Here is the album on Spotify –

Since most of the songs are written in Chinese, I’m going to list them by track numbers when reviewing.

Album Review:

  • #1 – “Good Stuff” seems to be entirely in English. I love the consistent claps on the instrumental. The beat progression is nice. This song started with one continuous drum beat, and then more variations were added in after each verse break. The melody for the pre-chorus is quite catchy. I am living for the heavy piano used in that section. “Good Stuff” is definitely a groovy track, and I’m enjoying Victoria’s voice on this. I knew I was going to love this song once I heard it on the album highlight. I am vibing to this more than the title track. The synthesized electronic sound for the main chorus is also perfect. I love the short silence that comes right before she sings each verse. She sounds sexy on this track, and I love that I can understand her. Victoria completely nailed the soft vocal runs at the end. “Good Stuff” is, for sure, going on my playlist.
  • #2 – “Up To Me”Β is the title track. This marks my third listening to it after my initial review, and my thoughts remain the same. It’s a great song but not my cup of tea.
  • #3 –Β This song’s title translates to “Nostalgia” I love the soft keyboard entry. If you’ve been reading my reviews, you’ll know that I adore ballads, hence this track is right up my alley. Victoria’s voice is lovely. The Chinese language makes her sound elegant and soothing. I love how the song progressed smoothly with the inclusion of classical stringed instruments. The background vocals on this track are heavenly, and the way her voice ascended slightly as she entered the chorus is beautiful. I love how they used the drums to modulate the pace of the song from the second chorus. Then we got a perfect soft closing with the keyboard. The music video for “Nostalgia” will be released later today.
  • #4 –Β “I Miss You” also caught my attention when I listened to the album highlight. So let’s see how it goes. Another piano entry. I am falling in love with Victoria’s soft tone. While in f(x), I never got to appreciate her vocals properly, so it’s nice that I can pay more attention now. There is some rapping in this, and I like the pace. I also appreciate the drums on this track. “I Miss You” is a chill track. Both Victoria and the featured artist compliment each other really well. It’s a nice song, but I am currentlyΒ  50/50 on it.
  • #5 – “Perfect Liar” started out quite slow but then came in with a full beat after 0.24 seconds. I like the instrumental. Victoria does an excellent job of moving between different vocal ranges on this track. She starts out with her full voice and then goes to a higher tone before including some falsetto notes. This is another good song on the album, and I’m sure that most people would enjoy it. However, I am also 50/50 on “Perfect Liar”
  • #6 – I love the instrumental for “Blame On You” because it’s really bouncy. This song is also entirely in English. I love the light vocal layering. I am intrigued by how Victoria’s background vocals sound very airy on this track compared to the rest. I am definitely grooving to this more than the previous two songs. “Blame On You” is a nice club song if you want to fist pump the entire time.
  • #7 – I was really looking forward to this song after hearing the preview, so I hope it comes through. A lyric video translated the title to “Capacity to Dominate” Right off the bat, I love the finger snaps and the drumbeat for this track. Oooh, the beat just got denser and groovier. Is this going to be my third favourite song on the album??? The sound immediately called for my attention. I love the build-up into the chorus, and we are getting a nice electronic beat drop during that section. I love that Victoria is slightly rap-singing some parts of this song. This is an awesome track, but It doesn’t beat “Good Stuff” or “Nostalgia” for me.
  • #8 – The translated title I found for this song is “Diagonal Line” Do I hear an electronic guitar? The beat goes hard on this track. I hear EDM with some rock influences. The bass on this is epic. I bet some dancers could vogue to this song. Wow, the beat suddenly switched up towards the last minute and then came right back to the normal pace. I would love to see Victoria do a dance video for this track. If I heard this song at a party, I would definitely get into dance mode and enjoy myself to the fullest. However, it’s not something I would play regularly. Maybe I just need some visual stimulation???
  • #9 – Another track that caught my attention on the highlight medley. Fingers crossed🀞🏼🀞🏼🀞🏼, please don’t disappoint. It seems she’s slowing things back down with “Broken Wings” I love the soft piano start, and this is another English song. Victoria sounds incredible on this track, and the background vocals are speaking to me. I love the instrumental progression. This is a soothing track, and I am enjoying it. Alright, the second verse brought in some drums. The drums dropped out again during the chorus, and I just love the melody. Okay, “Broken Wings”… I see you.
  • #10 – Alright, this is the last song and something I absolutely love. “Roof On Fire”Β is an older song from Victoria Song and a full-on BOP. I’m just going to enjoy myself with this track. πŸ’ƒπŸΌπŸ’ƒπŸΌπŸ’ƒπŸΌ

Final Thoughts:

This album gives me mixed feelings. I am confused because I want to like it, but I also want to provide my real review. I can’t say I am heavily impressed because most of the songs did not convince me 100%. I noticed that I had to give some tracks a few more listens before I could appreciate their sound. I don’t mind that, but the fact is that out of the ten tracks, I somewhat liked six, and my favourites are only four. Hence why VICTORIA lacked the wow factor, I was anticipating.

All the same, I can hear the growth in Victoria Song’s voice, and since this is her 1st album, she has tremendous space to create even better music in the future. I will be waiting for her to give me a masterpiece. Now make no mistake about my review because this record does contain good tracks, but unfortunately, they don’t suit my taste.

Therefore, my rating for Victoria Song’s 1st Solo album – VICTORIA is 7.5/10.

My Favourite songs are –

  1. Good Stuff
  2. Roof On Fire
  3. Nostalgia
  4. Broken Wings

Victoria Song – Up To Me: Music Review

Victoria Song has finally released her 1st solo album titled VICTORIA. Unfortunately, this record is not available on international streaming platforms, so I can only react to the title track – “Up To Me” since it was posted on YouTube.

Here is the album highlight medley for anyone interested – img_6645Song Qian popularly known as Victoria or Victoria Song is a Chinese singer, dancer, model and actress. She was born on February 2nd, 1987. In 2009 she debuted in South Korea under SM Entertainment as the leader of the girl group – f(x). She gained fame after appearing with 2PM’s Nickhun in the Korean variety program – We Got Married. Victoria is currently managed by Song Qian Studio, and this new album marks her official debut as a solo artist.

(Please note – this is a real-time review, meaning I am typing down my exact thoughts while listening to this song.)

Reaction to Title Track/MV:

  • Apparently, this album was supposed to be released three years ago. Hence why the music video style seems a bit outdated.
  • Also, there are no English captions.
  • I love the very bright coloured visuals.
  • The song starts out with a soft piano and guitar.
  • The distorted sound that plays before Victoria’s vocal entry makes me feel like I’m entering space.
  • The instrumental is bubbly but not too upbeat.
  • She sounds good, and I love the rap-singing style she used on this track.
  • The choreography is simple and adorable.
  • The electronic sound isn’t overdone on this track. The EDM elements are slightly laid back on this one.
  • It’s a nice song, but I’m not really getting into the vibe.
  • I wish I could hear the entire album because I could find other songs that I love among the B-sides.img_6213
  • From the highlight medley, I like the sound of track 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9 and of course 10 because that is “Roof on Fire”
  • I feel like “Broken Wings” would have been my favourite new song on this album.
  • I will check later to see if any audio files get uploaded to YouTube because, as of now, there’s nothing.
  • Her studio needs to release this album on international platforms because she has international fans who want to support her.
  • Alright, before I give my final rating, I’m going to listen to “Up To Me” again.
  • I definitely love the retro sound and visuals.
  • I appreciate the cute choreography.
  • Victoria sounds fantastic, but “Up To Me” isn’t the kind of song I see myself going back to a lot. So my rating is 7.5/10.

Final Thoughts:

Even though the title track wasn’t to my taste, I am super thrilled that Victoria finally released her solo album, and I can’t wait to have access to the full record. You all best believe that once I get my hands on the album, I will be giving her a proper review.

Victoria Song Teases Photos For Her First Solo Album

Victoria Song is finally set to release her 1st solo album, and I am thrilled about this news. Seriously, I have been waiting for her to give us more music ever since she dropped “roof on fire” I love that song, and she brought solid choreography on that one.

This new album is self-titled – VICTORIA, and it will be released on May 19th. She has dropped some teasers. So that’s what I will be sharing with you all in this post.

My Pictorial|Poster Faves: Visual Queens

There are celebrities that always wow me with their looks for editorial shoots. And this is not about beauty because I believe that everyone person is gorgeous in their own right. Instead, it is about their ability to nail every concept or outfit assigned to them. I am talking about fashion queens, the ones who always make a statement. I like to refer to such individuals as Visual Queens.

(Please note: none of the images are mine, I got them from official websites and social media sites.)

The first lady of all is Ni Ni. She nails every shoot I have seen her in. img_2459Ni Ni recently graced the cover of LEON China as the first female artist to take that spot in the ten-year history of the magazine.

img_2685img_2684Japanese model Koki never fails to give her best in every shoot or cover she graces. These are cover photos for the inaugural issue of MiniBAZAAR.

And of course, even though I do not have many photos of her. I cannot leave out the gorgeous Song Hye Kyo, who practically stuns in everything she wears. b4f30a11-c787-42bb-a4fa-3f92c32e0242-8690-0000068ab74eab1cHer beauty is breathtaking.

And even when she has on softer makeup for her shoot with Chanel Beauty, Victoria still exudes grace and beauty. img_2797img_2796

Heart Signal 2 (Chinese Version): My thoughts on Episode 10 – FINALE

I am back from my long break. I had to wash my hair, eat and relax a little. Now it is time to watch the finale –Screenshot (218)

  • Okay, so the housemates will have to call whoever they want to confess to.
  • Final date between Willliam and Kai Wen. I feel Kai Wen is now more comfortable around him.
  • The episodes keep getting longer and longer. I just realized this one goes on for two hours. I mean, I understand that it is the finale but WOW.
  • I think Zheng Xuan has come to the realization that he might not be getting a confession from anyone.
  • Awww Kai Wen, do not cry.
  • Fair enough for Qi Jun and William to shake hands. The competition is about to end, so they can be friends.
  • Love the heart to heart conversation going on in this episode.
  • Awww Qi Jun was so cute during his ten minutes conversation with Kai Wen. He was stuttering.
  • This episode is quite emotional. I really wish all the housemates could end up with someone.😒😒
  • Only Chen Yi Chen gets to meet up with three ladies. He might seem lucky to some, but he is not happy about this situation. At least he was more straightforward during his conversation with Wu Pei.
  • Poor Wu Pei. She is actually crying. I am so sad 😞, but I like how she handled the conversation. You did your best, Wu Pei.
  • I love how Wu Pei and Zhang Tian both wished Chen Yi Chen the best regardless of who he picks as his final choice.
  • What Victoria said about wanting Yi Chen to make a decision and not evade is interesting. I felt that Yi Chen had to step back because he does not seem ready for commitment, but now I kind of understand how making a decision could help him. Maybe that could be his first move towards growth.
  • I will admit that the continuous pursuit from Zhengru, Wu Pei and William was kind of frustrating at some point, but I also admire their courage to go heads on for what they want. Regardless of what the outcome might be, they decided to remain positive. So kudos to them for that.πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
  • I love their energy during the last dinner. At least they joked around a little.
  • Confession Time –
  • The panel has to write than their predictions as usual. LOL, these people are killing me hereπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. They are so funny.
  • First Up is William. First of all, he looks great in that suit, and I know that he will call Kai Wen, but I have a strong feeling she will not accept his confession.
  • And, of course, he called Kai Wen. I love that he does not pressure her but rather assures her of his support no matter who she chooses.
  • Next up is Qi Jun. He is for sure going to call Kai Wen, and he might be receiving a callback.
  • Yes, he called Kai Wen. He is crying, and I am so sorry for laughing at first. I know how emotional such a moment can be, but I just did not expect him to start crying. Awww Jun Jun.
  • πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I cannot deal with this panel. Please, can I have all members back for a third season? They are so hilarious.🀣🀣🀣🀣
  • Ooooh, it is time to see who Kai Wen calls. I feel she is going to call Jun Jun, but what about my dear William. Okay… πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯ – Yessss, I knew it. She chose Qi jun. I knew she held more affections for him.Screenshot (236)
  • I feel bad for William, but he gave his best till the end. So no regrets. I sincerely hope that he finds someone perfect for him. Good luck, William.
  • Next up is Zheng Xuan. He called Zhengru, but I know she will end up calling Chen Yi Chen.
  • Oh Damn, she just refused him straight up. Wow, that was hard to watch. I feel hurt.
  • No worries, Zheng Xuan. You will meet your perfect half someday.Screenshot (238)
  • And of course, Zhengru called Yi Chen. My gut tells me that she will not be getting a call back from him.
  • Awww it is Wu Pei’s turn. I really love her, and even though she might not get a call back from Yi Chen, I know she will be alright.
  •  Now unto Zhang Tian, who I know will definitely call Chen Yi Chen and also has the highest possibility of receiving a call back from him. Yes, I was right. She called Yi Chen.
  • Finally, it is time for Yi Chen to step forward. This show is so dramatic, I know he does not have a car but did they really have to make him runπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Anyways Yi Chen called… πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯ – ZHANG TIAN.Screenshot (246)
  • Yi Chen’s call to turn down Wu Pei’s confession was more heartfelt than when he rejected Zhengru. I feel he definitely connected with her, but just not in a romantic way. I wish they could still be friends. All the best to Wu Pei. Screenshot (240).png
  • I adore everyone that participated in this second season of Heart Signal. So I wish happiness to every single housemate.
  • HAHAHA HAHAHA, Poor Chao Yue guessed it all wrong. She was actually crying. And of course, Zheng Kai is the champion for this season. He had the most heart signal stones by the end of the show. CongratulationsπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰Screenshot (243).png
  • Oh WOW, the cast and panel actually got to meet. YESSS, I was really hoping for this. But where are the other four housemates?
  • Rainie is cute. She is so excited about meeting her Jun Jun in person.
  • It is nice to know that the housemates stay in touch even after the show ended.Screenshot (247).png

Final Thoughts:

The panel members really made this show for me. The interactions between them were exciting and cute. Their discussions and commentaries were very insightful. They had a lot of hilarious moments. Zheng Kai’s comedic timing was perfect. Also, his continuous bickering with Victoria was always fun to see. Chao Yue was savage and on point with all her commentaries. I related with her energy on a spiritual level. Rainie was so cute with how she awed at all the romantic and thoughtful moments between the housemates. Du Hai Tao did a really fantastic job as the host. He was able to get everyone engaged in ongoing discussions. Liu Xuan was also an excellent addition to this season. He really had a lot of educative inputs that helped the panel and viewers better understand the behaviour of the housemates.

Concerning the show itself, I do have a few regrets. Personally, I think they wasted way too much time on dramatizing the situation-ships in the house. There was not enough one on one meetings between housemates, but instead, we got a lot of awkward and intense triangle moments.

All the same, I truly enjoyed watching this show. I think Heart Signal allowed all the housemates to know more about themselves by interacting with others. And I am glad that some housemates showcased growth by the end of the show. I hope they hold on to all the lessons learned from this little experience and apply them whenever the need arises. This has been a journey. I really want to follow up with the cast to know how they are doing currently because I got attached to everyone.

I hope you all enjoyed watching it as well. Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comment section, and if anyone still needs the link to the English subbed episodes of this show, here it is: Heart Signal 2 (Chinese Version) on Viki

Until my next post, take care. πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

Heart Signal 2 (Chinese Version): My thoughts on Episode 9

The housemates will be going on their last date in this episode, so let us see how things go down –

  • I wish they coupled them up based on who the housemates regularly text, but I guess they want to give everyone an opportunity.
  • The location for Yi Chen and Zhengru’s date is beautiful.Their time together was fun, but I honestly do not think Yi Chen is the right person for Zhengru. Yes, they laugh a lot together, but their conversations are always on the surface or just focused on him. Nothing really in-depth, like when she is with Zheng Xuan. This is just my observation.
  • I really admire how straightforward Zhengru is. She came out straight and told Yi Chen that by trying to please everyone and keeping things in balance, he has already hurt the person who keeps waiting for his attention.
  • At this point, Yi Chen is still in the process of maturing into being his true self, so I personally feel that a relationship might not be the best option now. He needs to work on himself more.
  • Next is Wu Pei and Zheng Xuan. This is also their second date together.
  • I am with Chao Yue. I love that Zheng Xuan is straightforward. No need to pretend, just say how you feel and move on.
  • The locations they arranged for the dates are stunning. I would love to visit every single one. Screenshot (228)Screenshot (229)
  • Even though Wu Pei and Zheng Xuan did not get to go out with the person they had hoped for, they were still cordial and genuinely had fun.
  • Hmmm, Bungee jumping. I cannot swim, so I do not know how to feel when being thrown over a large pool of water. If it was just the height, I could manage, but height plus a river is a no-no until I learn how to swim.
  • Wu Pei is so amazing. She is always present and attentive no matter who she goes out with. She is a great person to hang out with.
  • HAHA HAHAHA, Rainie switches camps so much –
  • Zheng Xuan keeps scoring points because of how thoughtful he is.
  • I absolutely loved Wu Pei ad Zheng Xuan’s date. Very casual and relaxing.Screenshot (230).png
  • So among all the housemates, William is the only one who went on a date with the person he wanted.
  • Zhang Tian and Qi Jun are next. I am dying to see how this goes.
  • Ooo, I miss doing tie-dye. I majored in visual arts during high school, so it was something I had to learn.
  • Okay, back to the show. Zhang Tian and Qi Jun’s date was okay, they are so not interested in each other, but they had funny moments together. I just wish they were more open to having fun instead of only talking about who interests them in the Signal House.
  • LOL, Chao Yue killed me when she said, “A good job is not easy to find… A boyfriend can be found anytime”. She kind of has a point, but I feel there should be a balance when you are fully ready to settle down.
  • πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ The conversation on if the boyfriend is dirt poor and has charisma is TOO funny. I let out yet another sarcastic comment _ “who will his charisma help… will I eat charisma for breakfast?”
  • This does not mean I base everything on money, it honestly depends on the situation and why my partner is suddenly financially incapable. But on a serious note, I have to see him put in some effort. Basically, do not just sit down and be lazy at home and expect me to do everything because I love you. NO, I CANNOT LIVE LIKE THAT.
  • Okay, it is time for William and Kai Wen’s date.
  • William definitely looks younger in casual clothes.
  • William and Kai Wen’s date was cute. Also, I really like what he said about them not becoming distant just because she likes someone else. They could still be friends. William is such a nice guy. He has shown significant growth throughout his stay in the Signal House.Screenshot (231)
  • Texting Result –Screenshot (233).png

– Zhang Tian, Wu Pei and Zhengru all texted Yi Chen.

– William and Kai Wen sent text messages to each other.

– Qi Jun sent a text to Kai Wen.

– Zheng Xuan sent a text to Wu Pei.

– Yi Chen sent a text to Zhengru.

  • I was really disappointed that Yi Chen did not stand his ground, but okay. Also, Wu Pei still stubbornly chose Yi Chen, OKAY NEXT EPISODE PLEASE.πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Just one episode left.

I get to see the last confession. I can see a lot of crying faces in the preview for episode ten. This has been a journey, and I am really anticipating how it will end. Screenshot (235).png
