The Rose – Black Rose: Song Of The Week

I finally decided on my song for this week. It’s The Rose’s latest single titled “Black Rose”

For a short profile on this band, use this link 👉🏼 The Rose – Dawn: Album Recommendation.

The Rose released this song on Sunday. I don’t think they plan to promote since some members are off for their mandatory military service. All the same, I am delighted to hear something new from them. I missed their beautiful voices so much. “Black Rose” is a chill and soulful song. It makes me sad, but at the same time, I feel comforted. I love the message that everything will okay, so don’t be afraid. Also, Black Rose is the fandom name, which makes this song extra special. I pray that the boys stay healthy and continue to strive for their dream because they are super talented.

I hope you all enjoy listening to this song as well. If you will like to keep up with The Rose’s activities, here are their new official platforms:

The Rose – Dawn: Album Recommendation

I Initially wanted to make this a song of the week post, but because I have been listening to this EP a lot recently, I couldn’t pick just one song. I love all the songs on The Rose’s second mini-album – Dawn, hence why I decided to make an album recommendation instead. 16402744_1146987525399874_1946048165734708927_oThe Rose is a South Korean band managed by J&Star Company. The group has four members: Kim Woo-sung, Park Do-Joon, Lee Ha-Joon and Lee Jae-hyeong. They made their official debut on August 3rd, 2017, with the digital single – “Sorry”. Before their mainstream appearance, they were already an indie group that wrote their own music while posting covers of songs on YouTube. When asked why they are called ‘The Rose’, Woo-sung said that it is a name to show that music can be like the beauty of flowers and also like the sharpness of thorns. The fandom name for this band is Black Rose.

Before I talk about their music, let me get something off my chest. The Rose currently has a lawsuit filed against their agency, J&Star Company. Apparently, the company has been enforcing unreasonable schedules, and there have been problems regarding payments since their debut. For these reasons, the boys want to terminate their contract. J&Star Company refuted all their claims and announced the decision to sue the boys for violation of contract terms and defamation of character. From my personal experience of being into Kpop for about seven years now, I smell a fat lie, and it’s not from The Rose. Most Korean talent agencies are messed up. All I hope for is that the boys get through this ordeal successfully and find a better space to create their music. If you will like to read more details about this case, use these links – The Rose Request Termination of Contract.  👉🏼 J&Star Company Refutes Band’s Claims

Now back to the primary purpose of this post. The second mini-album – Dawn has four songs + an instrumental for the title track – “She’s In The Rain”

img_7488

  1. I Don’t Know You:
  2. She’s In The Rain: Lyric Video – Live Version –
  3. Take Me Down:
  4. Insomnia:

Every song on this EP is beautiful and very touching. This band’s vocalists are amazing. My bias is Woo-sung because his voice gives me major chills every time. He has such a distinctive soulful tone that soothes me. I hope you all enjoy listening to Dawn by The Rose as much as I do. 💕💕💕

English Lyrics:

“I Don’t Kow You”

I don’t know you
But you make me wonder who you are
With the loose jeans
And a casual hairdo
I want to know you

I don’t know you
You smile without saying anything
Sometimes the words I say
Are granted
Just want to know you

Do you want me
Like I just wanna know you girl
Your mysterious smile
Makes me wonder

I don’t know you
A compass pointing only to you
A small full-stop of
To stump your body
Let me travel you

Do you want me
Your lover who will never change
Even your bitterness
Makes me obsessed (Source – 👉🏼 Color Coded Lyrics)

“She’s In The Rain”

Do you hear me
a gloomy day covered in gray fog
I’m afraid I’m blind now
I’ve lost interest in everything

Do you hear me
As I walked down the street, I saw a different way
I turned around and found no one
The dreams I’ve been after, I follow them

I’m dying inside
I wanna think that it’s a lie why why
Even if I shout there is no answer
A flood of loneliness
In the rain rain rain

She’s in the rain
When I look at how beautiful you are
Time stops
It’s hard to even open my eyes now
No whoa, she’s in the rain

Do you hear me
Even if you’re hurt, you don’t show it
I’m so scared of seeing the end
In your eyes, I can see the emptiness

She’s dying inside
She wants to think that it’s a lie why why
Even if I call her, she’s not answering
A shower of rain
In the rain rain rain

She’s in the rain
When I look at how beautiful you are
Time stops
It’s hard to even open my eyes now
No whoa she’s in the rain

In my memory
Your traces spread
As if the rain has soaked them up
I lose track of where to go
In your tears
Of frozen reality

She’s in the rain
You wanna hurt yourself I’ll stay with you
You wanna make yourself go through the pain
It’s better to be held than holding on
No whoa

We’re in the rain
In this falling rain
I fill the scattered you
So I could see how beautiful you are
No whoa we’re in the rain (Source – 👉🏼 Color Coded Lyrics)

“Take Me Down”

Lonely you are
Your scars that are growing
The door to your heart is closed
You try to force it
Like a kid
But it’s already too late

You won’t be able to turn
Back in the time that you abandoned
I wanna say goodbye
I’m letting go off all of the regrets
I’m erasing them in my head
I just wanna say goodbye

Take me now
Please undo my chain of pain
If I can scape
Like the fire that is growing bigger

Can you take me down?
I’m under cold rain again
If I can avoid it
Like being dull
Can you take me down?

Rough way of speaking
Our view that’s changing
like a seasonal flow
A dark tattoo
My carved mistake
It’s already too late

On the edge of a dark heart
Even the lost memories
I just wanna say goodbye
I can’t just stand there
In a cold heart
I just wanna say goodbye

Take me now
Please undo my chain of pain
If I can scape
like the fire that is growing bigger

Can you take me down?
I’m under cold rain again
If I can avoid it
Like being dull
Can you take me down?

Oh take me now
Please undo my chain of pain
If I can scape
Like the fire that is growing bigger

Can you take me down?
I’m under cold rain again
If I can avoid it
I become dull
Can you take me down? (Source – 👉🏼 Color Coded Lyrics)

“Insomnia”

I wish you told me
“Hold on to me”
I’ll be reluctant
To turn back

The memory that I thought I’d forgotten
It devours me
Where are you now

Just go away
Stay here in my heart
Just go away
Stay here in my heart

I don’t know me
I’m standing somewhere in the shaking ground
It’s just that I already
Passed you

I can’t sleep
Grab onto me
I can’t sleep
I’m going back

I know I’m stupid
What can I do about that?
I have so many things
I couldn’t do

I close my eyes and count the stars,
I still can’t sleep
Why are you still here

Just go away
Stay here in my heart
Just go away
Stay here in my heart

I don’t know me
I’m standing somewhere in the shaking ground
It’s just that I already
Passed you, I can’t sleep

I’m left alone, time goes by, time goes by.
I can’t stop thinking about you.
Even if it’s a nightmare or a dream,
I want to see you

Just go away
You’re standing in my heart.
Just go away
Just go away

I don’t know me
I’m standing somewhere in the shaking ground.
It’s just that I already.
Passed you

I can’t sleep
Grab onto me
I can’t sleep
I’m going back

I can’t sleep
What can I do about that?
I can’t sleep
It’s only you

I know it’s over
I guess it’ll be fine (Source – 👉🏼 Color Coded Lyrics)

Winter/Early Spring Playlist 2020

Hello everyone🤗🤗🤗

Recently, I haven’t been posting a lot. I am at that critical point in the semester, where I only have time to study and sleep. That is why this playlist is coming to you guys this late in the season. Winter is almost over, and spring should be here soon. Hence I tried my best to revamp this playlist with a few tracks that could also suit spring. As per usual, I have included short previews for each track.

#. AKMU – How can I love the heartbreak, you’re the one I loveimg_3238 I had to start with AKMU. They are my go-to for this time of the year. They help me feel at peace. “How can I love the heartbreak, you’re the one I love” is one of my favourites from their SAILING album. I listen to this song on my way to school, while studying, and I even use it as my bedtime lullaby. It is that good, so I hope you all love it as well. Also, feel free to check out my album review for SAILING with this link 👉🏼 AKMU – SAILING: Album Review

#. Eric Nam – Hold Meimg_3242 I personally feel that Eric Nam is the perfect selection for spring. His voice gives me the most wonderful tingling sensation ever. “Hold Me” is the kind of song that automatically makes any listener feel loved and cherished. I have written about my love for Eric Nam while covering his content a few times on this blog. So if you need more song suggestions from this amazing artist, simply click on his name tag at the end of this post.

#. DAY6 – I’ll tryimg_3239 This is such a lovely track from DAY6. Try to search up the English lyrics because you need to understand how touching this song is. “I’ll try” always make me feel like I am in a warm embrace with someone special. I think it is very fitting for winter. I have ranted about how good DAY6 is a few times on this blog. Honestly, they never disappoint. If you want to read more DAY6 related content, simply click on their name tag at the end of this post.

#. Solar, Kassy – A song from the pastimg_3244 A charming duet from two incredible ladies. I absolutely adore this song. The harmonies, melody and high notes are beautiful. I think it is a perfect track for spring. So I hope you all enjoy it as well. I also wrote a review for this song that can be accessed with this link 👉🏼 Solar x Kassy – A Song From The Past: Music Review

#TAEYEON – Wineimg_3269 “Wine” is my favourite track from Taeyeon’s Purpose album. The chorus is infectious, and Taeyeon’s voice during that section is pure bliss. I randomly find myself humming the melody. I am glad that I checked out the full album because I would have missed out on this gem. To read my review for Taeyeon’s Purpose album, including the repackaged version, use these links 👉🏼 TAEYEON – PURPOSE: Album Review

👉🏼 TAEYEON – PURPOSE: Album Repackage Review

#. Eric Nam – 4AMimg_3242 Yess I included another song from Eric Nam and it also from the same digital single release. I love both songs, so I could not pick one over the other. This track is more upbeat, and I live for the raw vocal runs in this one. The man can sing, and no one can change my opinion. He had a concert in my city recently, but I couldn’t go due to school😭😭😭. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy listening to “4AM”.

#. millic, HAN – Treasure Islandimg_3241 “Treasure Island” is a jam but the full Vida album that contains this track is a complete BOP and A HALF. Millic worked perfection, and everyone that was featured on it nailed their part. A full-blown masterpiece. For some reason, Vida is no longer available on Spotify, but I hope he brings it back because I need my jams intact. Honestly, Korean RnB is on another level.

#. Primary, SUMIN, Qim Isle – woozooimg_3236 Another BOP. Primary is an incredible producer. I discovered this song while reviewing the second part of his PAKTORY EP. To read that review, use this link 👉🏼 Primary – 3-PAKTORYO2: Music Review. Immediately the song started, I was captivated by SUMIN’s voice. Honestly, she should be a bigger name because the lady can sing. “woozoo” always gets me in some kind of turnt up mood that I can’t even explain in words.

#. Punch – Sometimesimg_3248 This is actually my first song from Punch that isn’t an OST for a Korean drama. I love the chill and carefree vibe this track gives off. Punch has a remarkable voice, so I was determined to check out her personal discography and “Sometimes” is my favourite so far from all her songs I have listed to. To read more content about Punch, simply click her name tag at the end of this post.

#. Vincent Blue – Stupidimg_3240 This is the most intriguing song I have heard in a long while. Indeed, music is a compelling tool. There are various ways artists express themselves, and the effect that their expressions have on another individual is incredible. Vincent Blue’s voice and the way he sang this song continually leaves me in awe. He sounds so elegant, especially when he starts those vocal runs that mimic the instruments. “Stupid” is pure art and also an excellent show of intelligent production.

#. IU – The visitorimg_3268 My love for IU soars higher each day along with my undying adoration for her Love poem album. I already wrote a review for it, so I will try not to rant again. If you still need to read my review, use this link 👉🏼 IU – LOVE POEM: Album Review. All the songs on this album are equally amazing as expected from IU, but I chose “The visitor” because I feel it suits this season the most.

#. Dean, Crush, Jeff Bernat – What 2 Doimg_3246 Since I decided to spring things up with a few RnB and neo-soul tracks, I couldn’t leave out Dean. “What 2 Do” is one of my first songs from him, and I still destroy the replay button on this song to date. It is so good. Plus Crush and Jeff Bernat also held their fort. These three amazing singers came together and disrespected me most beautifully. I LOVE!!!😍😍😍

#. Tia Ray – Ready For Loveimg_3237 The instrumental on this track is LIT🔥🔥🔥. In fact, the entire 1212 album is a groovy anthem. I am so pleased that I randomly discovered this artist. Her voice and energy are perfect. “Ready For Love” always comes on when I need something upbeat but not too loud. Just perfect enough for body rolling. I sit on my bed and dance like the weird human being I am.💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼

#. g.o.d – One Candleimg_3261 g.o.d!!!. I love me some first-generation Kpop artists. This song might not fancy some people on the first listen, but I will advise you to give it a second or third try. If you still don’t like it, oh well😂😂😂. We can’t all have the same taste because differences are what make the world interesting. Anyways “One Candle” is one of my favourite classics from g.o.d. The lyrics are beautiful, and the chorus always has me dancing.

#. DAY6 – days gone by
img_3245 Yes, DAY6 appeared again because according to Spotify, they are my most played Kpop group and I ain’t arguing with facts. My closest friend and I live for this song because of the old school disco vibe. I mean, who can resist a good disco jam with such impressive vocals. There is no way you can see me sitting still when “days gone by” comes on. It becomes a party hall, no matter where I am😂😂😂.

#. Ailee – Reminiscing img_3249 The powerhouse Ailee is here with her soft and impeccable vocal runs that consistently make me wonder how she sings this song live. Honestly, even after watching a live performance, I am still confused. How does she belt that high-speed line with so much ease? All the same, “Reminiscing” is a beautiful track, and it is precisely the kind of song that I gravitate to during the cold season. To read more Ailee related content, click on her name tag at the end of this post.

#. Urban Zakapa – Nearness Is To Loveimg_3259 You all know how I feel about ballads/RnB and Urban Zakapa always nail their tracks. Plus, “Nearness Is To Love” is entirely in English, so I could understand right away. This song is so soothing, and I remember during the first week of discovering it, I couldn’t listen to anything else. The melody was stuck in my head. It is such a beautiful piece, and the vocal quality is to die for.

#. 4Men – Baby Babyimg_3263 This is a song that never fails to get me in my feels. I love it when Spotify recommends new artists to me because I get to try something different every once in a while. I discovered 4Men a few years ago. They are such talented singers and “Baby Baby” is my favourite from them. The vocal prowess they showcase throughout this song is incredible.

#. LEE HI – BREATHE img_3247 This song became so hard to listen to for a long time, but I am back on it now. I love the message of hope and reassurance that no matter what is happening, you are not alone. So it is okay to take a break and breathe. Even from the initial release, it was a very emotional piece because I was in an awful mental space at the time. “BREATHE” definitely means a lot to me. I hope anyone dealing with trials finds some comfort through this song.

#. Juno Su – Fortunately, We Meet Againimg_3258 I have definitely overplayed this soundtrack from the Chinese drama, Ten Years Late. There is something about the chorus section that soothes my soul, and it perfect for this season. I already featured it as my song for the week and on my list of favourite 2019 OSTs, but I still included in this playlist. Whenever I can’t sleep, I either play “Fortunately, We Meet Again” or rain sounds. That is how much I love this song.

#. Urban Zakapa – Wishimg_3255 There are few very popular OSTs from Goblin, but there are some other late releases that I think did not get enough attention. “Wish” by Urban Zakaba is one of those. This song’s progression is intense and captivating. It literally feels like you are soaring on the power of love. I like to pretend like I am singing along with them because it makes me feel invincible.

#. Park Hyo Shin – Goodbyeimg_3252 Hmmm, are there really any words that could describe the amazement that is Park Hyo Shin. The man stuns all the time. I know how good he is, but I still get surprised by each new song. “Goodbye” is a magical piece. It starts out slow, but the vocal prowess that Park Hyo Shin displays from the one minute mark just leaves my mouth hanging wide open, and I ain’t complaining. Yesss…. please bless my ears with your breathtaking pipes.

#. BTOB – Missing Youimg_3260 I could write a whole page full of praise and love for BTOB because they are more than deserving of that. With each new album, they continue to impress both as a group and individually. So if you don’t know them, what are you waiting for???🙄🙄😊 Anyways “Missing You” is an excellent song with beautiful vocals and great rap verses. Also, since it is my favourite from Brother Act., it has to be on this playlist.

#. Younha – Dark Clouds I love working on this blog, not just because of my obsession with music and dramas but also because it broadens my horizon. I discover a lot of new things while creating content here. Younha is one of such discoveries. While trying to check out more artists for music review content, I stumbled upon her latest album – UNSTABLE MINDSET, and I was utterly blown away. If you will like to read my review for UNSTABLE MINDSET, use this link 👉🏼 YOUNHA – UNSTABLE MINDSET: Album Review. “Dark Clouds” is a powerful and heartfelt song. It also happens to be one of my faves, so I decided to include it.

#. Lee Moon Sae – A welcome rainimg_3267 Another song which I listed as one of my favourite OSTs from 2019. “A welcome rain” makes me feel emotions that I shouldn’t be experiencing. Yes, I have gone through some sad things, but the way this song calls out my tears is still not explainable. This is a sad one, but I still love it. Anytime I hear it play, I recall Shin Hye-sun’s scenes from Angel’s Last Mission: Love. So maybe that’s why the tears flow because her performance was too good. Also, bravo to Lee Moon Sae for an emotional delivery of this exquisite piece.

#. Paul Kim – Big Heartimg_3250 Paul Kim is one singer that always calls forth my attention. “Big Heart” was his last release for 2019, and I already wrote a review for it. You can access that post with this link 👉🏼 Paul Kim – Big Heart: Music Review. Also, for more content, click on his name tag at the end of this post. Paul Kim was on my first Winter Playlist, and I didn’t even know him so well then. Now, a year later, he is one of my favourite Korean solo acts. His voice is precious, and he is still quite young, so just imagine what he could produce with even more experience. I am excited to hear more songs from him.

#. DAY6 – All Aloneimg_3251 I promise that this is my last song from DAY6 on this playlist😂😂😂. I tried my best to have one artist to one song, but people like Eric Nam and DAY6 could not let a sister be great. I really like “All Alone” because of the stripped-down acoustic style of the song. It puts more attention on their voices, and I love, I MEAN I REALLY LOVE to hear them bless me. Ladies and gentlemen, yes, this is for sure the curtain roll on my DAY6 rants in this post. I hope you enjoyed every section. Moving on…

#. Davichi – Dear. img_3243 Another beautiful set of vocal queens. This song is a chill love and appreciation vibe. Davichi effortlessly nailed each note while still keeping the progression a bit simple. I adore the instrumental for “Dear” because it reminds me of Christmas jingles. Which makes sense since this track was released in December of last year. Anyways, I play Christmas songs throughout the year, so this can be included in this list. I have a review for”Dear” on this blog, it can be accessed with this link 👉🏼 Davichi – Dear: Music Review

#. ATEEZ – Sunrise
img_3270 ATEEZ is another new discovery, and I have been fangirling over them a lot recently. Currently, I have two stable biases (Park Seonghwa and Kim Hongjoong), but every now and then, I get swayed by other members. After reviewing their most recent album, I went ahead to check out their discography, and “Sunrise” was one of the first songs that caught my attention. I love the message and the heavy drumbeat used for the instrumental. For more ATEEZ content, simply click on their name tag at the end of this post.

#. The Rose – She’s In The Rainimg_3273-1 Finally The Rose comes into the mix. Another one of my favourite K-bands. I really hope they get good results concerning the recent dispute with their management company. “She’s In The Rain” was the first song I heard from this group, and I immediately fell in love. The Dawn album, which contains this song, is also perfect. So all I did was choose my number track from it.

Well, I hope you all were at least intrigued by one or two songs. This playlist is available on YouTube and Spotify with these links: 👉🏼 Youtube Winter 2020

Please like this post and if I introduced you to a new song, let me know in the comment section.

That is all I have for you guys today, take care.💕💕💕

The Rose – I.L.Y: Song Of The Week

Hello everyone,

I know I skipped last week, but I did give a good album recommendation as a replacement. If there is anyone who has not read that post, click 👉🏼 KAI (Jung Ki-yeol) – KAI IN KOREA

Now onto the primary purpose of this post – The Rose is a South Korean band under J&Star Company. The group has four members: Kim Woo-sung, Park Do-joon, Lee Ha-joon and Lee Jae-hyeong. They made their official debut on the 3rd of August, 2017 with the digital single – “Sorry”. Before their mainstream appearance, they were already an indie group that wrote their own music while posting covers of songs on YouTube. img_1538I just recently discovered this band. I was listening to a Day6 album on Spotify, and after it ended, “She’s In The Rain” by The Rose played. I fell in love with the song, so I decided to check out the group. This week was not too busy for me, so I had enough time to listen to every song from The Rose, and I think I found my second favourite Korean band. I really love their music.

So that is why my chosen song for this week is “I.L.Y” by The Rose.

“I.L.Y” is such a soothing song. The soft piano start is so good. Also, Kim Woo-sung’s voice is beautiful, and the way the other members back up during the chorus is perfect. Anytime I listen to this song, I get chills whenever they sing, “I love you, our love is true… hug me”. The lyrics are really heartwarming. I have been listening to almost all their songs on repeat. However, I decided to pick “I.L.Y” as my song for this week because of how calm it is. I tend to gravitate more towards such relaxing songs during the winter season.

I hope you all enjoying listening to “I.L.Y” by The Rose and make sure to check out other songs from this band because they are amazing.

💕💕
