Chen Kun and Zhou Xun Celebrate 20 Years Of Friendship With GQ China

Chen Kun and Zhou Xun are known to be very close friends in the Chinese entertainment industry. They’ve starred in numerous projects together, including the recent film, The Yin Yang Master. Plus, they even established an acting school known as Dome Studio with another A-list actor, Chen Kuo-fu. These two talented acts graced the February 2021 cover of GQ China. During the interview for this issue, they promoted their upcoming film at the time and spoke beautifully about their ongoing friendship of 20 years. This shoot’s theme is “Two bodies, one soul”, and the visual artist Chen Man was the creative hand behind each photo.

Both were also the cover images for the March 2021 Issue of COSMOPOLITAN China, and I believe Chen Man took these photos as well. Here are the individual spreads –

Beautifully Made: A Hwasa & Jike Junyi Exclusive

Hwasa and Jike Junyi are both effortless beauties and equally impressive singers. This post will showcase some of their recent photos and highlight a few of my favourite songs/performances.

(Please Note: none of these images are mine. I got them from official magazine websites and social media sites.)

First off is Hwasa for VOGUE Korea. I believe this is a photoshoot from last year, and she looks fierce in every shot –

Hwasa always stands out no matter what’s she doing. Her beauty and presence are very striking + she has a captivating and emotionally driven voice. Here are some of my favourite songs/performances from her

Following up is Jike Junyi at the GQ 2020 MEN OF THE YEAR AWARD. She was glowing at this event. The outfit, hair and makeup was so on point –

Jike Junyi, also known as Summer, is a Chinese singer from the Yi Ethnic group.

The Yi or Nuosuo people are an ethnic group in China, Vietnam and Thailand that live primarily in mountainous areas. Jike Junyi is best known as the second runner-up of The Voice Of China Season 1. It wasn’t easy to find her music videos on YouTube, but I still listed some of my favourites –

This video ☝🏼 can only be viewed directly on YouTube, but try to check it out because it’s hands down my favourite performance from her.

My Pictorial|Poster Faves: An IU and Song Hye Kyo Exclusive

(Please Note: none of these images are mine. I got them from official magazine websites and social media sites.)

First off is IU for GQ Korea in collaboration with Gucci. As expected, she looks lovely in every shot –

Following up is the gorgeous Song Hye Kyo for W Korea. I think these photos are also for a jewelry campaign because the necklaces, earrings, rings, etc. are statement pieces –

My Pictorial|Poster Faves: The Older, The Better🥰

If you’re an older Asian drama fan or just a well-versed watcher, then you probably have certain older actors (i.e. 30+ years) that continuously amaze you with their acting skills and beauty!!!. Yes, that’s the focus of this post. I will be sharing pictures of some of my favourite older Korean actors. Also, I’m discussing how I discovered them + some recommendations of their dramas/films. To keep this post brief, I will create a female/Chinese version later.

Lee Joon-gi was born on April 17th, 1982, making him 38 years old. He recently starred in ‘Flower of Evil’, and he is one actor with a very secure place in my heart. When I dived into the Korean drama scene, Lee Joon-gi was the first older actor that caught my eye. It all started with ‘Iljimae’ (2008) and then every other drama/movie from him because I fell in love with his acting style, charisma and beauty. So here are some recent photos of the actor from Allure Korea.

Lee Dong Wook, who recently starred in ‘Tale of the Nine-Tailed’, was born on November 6th, 1981, making the actor 39 years old. He sure is ageing like fine wine, both physically and career-wise. I first saw Lee Dong Wook in ‘Blade Man’ (2014), and I’ve found him to be a great actor after watching his other movies/dramas. Hence he is my second feature with recent shots from GQ Korea.

Lee Je-hoon is more of a film actor. Hence, I haven’t had the time to dive into his works because that would require some days of sitting through different stories. For some reason, dramas are much easier for me to watch😆. All the same, after watching ‘Signal’ (2016), I have been obsessed with him. He’s such an engaging actor that always brings distinction and life to his character. Lee Je-hoon was born on July 4th, 1984 (36 years old). Here are some recent shots of the actor from W Korea.

Rain (Jung Ji Hoon) was born on June 25th, 1982, making him 38 years old. Most people knew him as a singer, but I discovered him as an actor through the 2014 drama – ‘My Lovely Girl’. Honestly, that drama did not do much for me, which affected my perception of Rain’s acting skills. Thankfully I watched ‘Please Come Back, Mister’ (2016) and then began to notice his strengths as an actor. Plus, we all have to admit that the man is fine!!!! Hence why he is my last feature on this post with some photos from GQ Korea.

Cheng Xiao Goes Metallic for GQ China Magazine

The center of my pictorial faves in this post is Cheng Xiao of the South Korean-Chinese pop group, Comic girls (WJSN). What I love about this photoshoot with GQ China is the slick metallic look, and I think they took some inspiration from Egyptian headpieces. Plus, Cheng Xiao completely stunned in every outfit.
