Winter/Early Spring Playlist 2020

Hello everyone๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—

Recently, I haven’t been posting a lot. I am at that critical point in the semester, where I only have time to study and sleep. That is why this playlist is coming to you guys this late in the season. Winter is almost over, and spring should be here soon. Hence I tried my best to revamp this playlist with a few tracks that could also suit spring. As per usual, I have included short previews for each track.

#. AKMU – How can I love the heartbreak, you’re the one I loveimg_3238 I had to start with AKMU. They are my go-to for this time of the year. They help me feel at peace. “How can I love the heartbreak, you’re the one I love” is one of my favourites from their SAILING album. I listen to this song on my way to school, while studying, and I even use it as my bedtime lullaby. It is that good, so I hope you all love it as well. Also, feel free to check out my album review for SAILING with this link ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผย AKMU โ€“ SAILING: Album Review

#. Eric Nam – Hold Meimg_3242 I personally feel that Eric Nam is the perfect selection for spring. His voice gives me the most wonderful tingling sensation ever. “Hold Me” is the kind of song that automatically makes any listener feel loved and cherished. I have written about my love for Eric Nam while covering his content a few times on this blog. So if you need more song suggestions from this amazing artist, simply click on his name tag at the end of this post.

#. DAY6 – I’ll tryimg_3239 This is such a lovely track from DAY6. Try to search up the English lyrics because you need to understand how touching this song is. “I’ll try” always make me feel like I am in a warm embrace with someone special. I think it is very fitting for winter. I have ranted about how good DAY6 is a few times on this blog. Honestly, they never disappoint. If you want to read more DAY6 related content, simply click on their name tag at the end of this post.

#. Solar, Kassy – A song from the pastimg_3244 A charming duet from two incredible ladies. I absolutely adore this song. The harmonies, melody and high notes are beautiful. I think it is a perfect track for spring. So I hope you all enjoy it as well. I also wrote a review for this song that can be accessed with this link ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผย Solar x Kassy โ€“ A Song From The Past: Music Review

#TAEYEON – Wineimg_3269 “Wine” is my favourite track from Taeyeon’s Purpose album. The chorus is infectious, and Taeyeon’s voice during that section is pure bliss. I randomly find myself humming the melody. I am glad that I checked out the full album because I would have missed out on this gem. To read my review for Taeyeon’s Purpose album, including the repackaged version, use these links ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ TAEYEON โ€“ PURPOSE: Album Review

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผย TAEYEON โ€“ PURPOSE: Album Repackage Review

#. Eric Nam – 4AMimg_3242 Yess I included another song from Eric Nam and it also from the same digital single release. I love both songs, so I could not pick one over the other. This track is more upbeat, and I live for the raw vocal runs in this one. The man can sing, and no one can change my opinion. He had a concert in my city recently, but I couldn’t go due to school๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy listening to “4AM”.

#. millic, HAN – Treasure Islandimg_3241 “Treasure Island” is a jam but the full Vida album that contains this track is a complete BOP and A HALF. Millic worked perfection, and everyone that was featured on it nailed their part. A full-blown masterpiece. For some reason, Vida is no longer available on Spotify, but I hope he brings it back because I need my jams intact. Honestly, Korean RnB is on another level.

#. Primary, SUMIN, Qim Isle – woozooimg_3236 Another BOP. Primary is an incredible producer. I discovered this song while reviewing the second part of his PAKTORY EP. To read that review, use this link ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Primary โ€“ 3-PAKTORYO2: Music Review. Immediately the song started, I was captivated by SUMIN’s voice. Honestly, she should be a bigger name because the lady can sing. “woozoo” always gets me in some kind of turnt up mood that I can’t even explain in words.

#. Punch – Sometimesimg_3248 This is actually my first song from Punch that isn’t an OST for a Korean drama. I love the chill and carefree vibe this track gives off. Punch has a remarkable voice, so I was determined to check out her personal discography and “Sometimes” is my favourite so far from all her songs I have listed to. To read more content about Punch, simply click her name tag at the end of this post.

#. Vincent Blue – Stupidimg_3240 This is the most intriguing song I have heard in a long while. Indeed, music is a compelling tool. There are various ways artists express themselves, and the effect that their expressions have on another individual is incredible. Vincent Blue’s voice and the way he sang this song continually leaves me in awe. He sounds so elegant, especially when he starts those vocal runs that mimic the instruments. “Stupid” is pure art and also an excellent show of intelligent production.

#. IU – The visitorimg_3268 My love for IU soars higher each day along with my undying adoration for her Love poem album. I already wrote a review for it, so I will try not to rant again. If you still need to read my review, use this link ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ IU โ€“ LOVE POEM: Album Review. All the songs on this album are equally amazing as expected from IU, but I chose “The visitor” because I feel it suits this season the most.

#. Dean, Crush, Jeff Bernat – What 2 Doimg_3246 Since I decided to spring things up with a few RnB and neo-soul tracks, I couldn’t leave out Dean. “What 2 Do” is one of my first songs from him, and I still destroy the replay button on this song to date. It is so good. Plus Crush and Jeff Bernat also held their fort. These three amazing singers came together and disrespected me most beautifully. I LOVE!!!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

#. Tia Ray – Ready For Loveimg_3237 The instrumental on this track is LIT๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ. In fact, the entire 1212 album is a groovy anthem. I am so pleased that I randomly discovered this artist. Her voice and energy are perfect. “Ready For Love” always comes on when I need something upbeat but not too loud. Just perfect enough for body rolling. I sit on my bed and dance like the weird human being I am.๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ

#. g.o.d – One Candleimg_3261 g.o.d!!!. I love me some first-generation Kpop artists. This song might not fancy some people on the first listen, but I will advise you to give it a second or third try. If you still don’t like it, oh well๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. We can’t all have the same taste because differences are what make the world interesting. Anyways “One Candle” is one of my favourite classics from g.o.d. The lyrics are beautiful, and the chorus always has me dancing.

#. DAY6 – days gone by
img_3245 Yes, DAY6 appeared again because according to Spotify, they are my most played Kpop group and I ain’t arguing with facts. My closest friend and I live for this song because of the old school disco vibe. I mean, who can resist a good disco jam with such impressive vocals. There is no way you can see me sitting still when “days gone by” comes on. It becomes a party hall, no matter where I am๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

#. Ailee – Reminiscing img_3249 The powerhouse Ailee is here with her soft and impeccable vocal runs that consistently make me wonder how she sings this song live. Honestly, even after watching a live performance, I am still confused. How does she belt that high-speed line with so much ease? All the same, “Reminiscing” is a beautiful track, and it is precisely the kind of song that I gravitate to during the cold season. To read more Ailee related content, click on her name tag at the end of this post.

#. Urban Zakapa – Nearness Is To Loveimg_3259 You all know how I feel about ballads/RnB and Urban Zakapa always nail their tracks. Plus, “Nearness Is To Love” is entirely in English, so I could understand right away. This song is so soothing, and I remember during the first week of discovering it, I couldn’t listen to anything else. The melody was stuck in my head. It is such a beautiful piece, and the vocal quality is to die for.

#. 4Men – Baby Babyimg_3263 This is a song that never fails to get me in my feels. I love it when Spotify recommends new artists to me because I get to try something different every once in a while. I discovered 4Men a few years ago. They are such talented singers and “Baby Baby” is my favourite from them. The vocal prowess they showcase throughout this song is incredible.

#. LEE HI – BREATHE img_3247 This song became so hard to listen to for a long time, but I am back on it now. I love the message of hope and reassurance that no matter what is happening, you are not alone. So it is okay to take a break and breathe. Even from the initial release, it was a very emotional piece because I was in an awful mental space at the time. “BREATHE” definitely means a lot to me. I hope anyone dealing with trials finds some comfort through this song.

#. Juno Su – Fortunately, We Meet Againimg_3258 I have definitely overplayed this soundtrack from the Chinese drama, Ten Years Late. There is something about the chorus section that soothes my soul, and it perfect for this season. I already featured it as my song for the week and on my list of favourite 2019 OSTs, but I still included in this playlist. Whenever I can’t sleep, I either play “Fortunately, We Meet Again” or rain sounds. That is how much I love this song.

#. Urban Zakapa – Wishimg_3255 There are few very popular OSTs from Goblin, but there are some other late releases that I think did not get enough attention. “Wish” by Urban Zakaba is one of those. This song’s progression is intense and captivating. It literally feels like you are soaring on the power of love. I like to pretend like I am singing along with them because it makes me feel invincible.

#. Park Hyo Shin – Goodbyeimg_3252 Hmmm, are there really any words that could describe the amazement that is Park Hyo Shin. The man stuns all the time. I know how good he is, but I still get surprised by each new song. “Goodbye” is a magical piece. It starts out slow, but the vocal prowess that Park Hyo Shin displays from the one minute mark just leaves my mouth hanging wide open, and I ain’t complaining. Yesss…. please bless my ears with your breathtaking pipes.

#. BTOB – Missing Youimg_3260 I could write a whole page full of praise and love for BTOB because they are more than deserving of that. With each new album, they continue to impress both as a group and individually. So if you don’t know them, what are you waiting for???๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜Š Anyways “Missing You” is an excellent song with beautiful vocals and great rap verses. Also, since it is my favourite from Brother Act., it has to be on this playlist.

#. Younha – Dark Clouds I love working on this blog, not just because of my obsession with music and dramas but also because it broadens my horizon. I discover a lot of new things while creating content here. Younha is one of such discoveries. While trying to check out more artists for music review content, I stumbled upon her latest album – UNSTABLE MINDSET, and I was utterly blown away. If you will like to read my review for UNSTABLE MINDSET, use this link ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ YOUNHA โ€“ UNSTABLE MINDSET: Album Review. “Dark Clouds” is a powerful and heartfelt song. It also happens to be one of my faves, so I decided to include it.

#. Lee Moon Sae – A welcome rainimg_3267 Another song which I listed as one of my favourite OSTs from 2019. “A welcome rain” makes me feel emotions that I shouldn’t be experiencing. Yes, I have gone through some sad things, but the way this song calls out my tears is still not explainable. This is a sad one, but I still love it. Anytime I hear it play, I recall Shin Hye-sun’s scenes from Angel’s Last Mission: Love. So maybe that’s why the tears flow because her performance was too good. Also, bravo to Lee Moon Sae for an emotional delivery of this exquisite piece.

#. Paul Kim – Big Heartimg_3250 Paul Kim is one singer that always calls forth my attention. “Big Heart” was his last release for 2019, and I already wrote a review for it. You can access that post with this link ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Paul Kim โ€“ Big Heart: Music Review. Also, for more content, click on his name tag at the end of this post. Paul Kim was on my first Winter Playlist, and I didn’t even know him so well then. Now, a year later, he is one of my favourite Korean solo acts. His voice is precious, and he is still quite young, so just imagine what he could produce with even more experience. I am excited to hear more songs from him.

#. DAY6 – All Aloneimg_3251 I promise that this is my last song from DAY6 on this playlist๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. I tried my best to have one artist to one song, but people like Eric Nam and DAY6 could not let a sister be great. I really like “All Alone” because of the stripped-down acoustic style of the song. It puts more attention on their voices, and I love, I MEAN I REALLY LOVE to hear them bless me. Ladies and gentlemen, yes, this is for sure the curtain roll on my DAY6 rants in this post. I hope you enjoyed every section. Moving on…

#. Davichi – Dear. img_3243 Another beautiful set of vocal queens. This song is a chill love and appreciation vibe. Davichi effortlessly nailed each note while still keeping the progression a bit simple. I adore the instrumental for “Dear” because it reminds me of Christmas jingles. Which makes sense since this track was released in December of last year. Anyways, I play Christmas songs throughout the year, so this can be included in this list. I have a review for”Dear” on this blog, it can be accessed with this link ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Davichi โ€“ Dear: Music Review

#. ATEEZ – Sunrise
img_3270 ATEEZ is another new discovery, and I have been fangirling over them a lot recently. Currently, I have two stable biases (Park Seonghwa and Kim Hongjoong), but every now and then, I get swayed by other members. After reviewing their most recent album, I went ahead to check out their discography, and “Sunrise” was one of the first songs that caught my attention. I love the message and the heavy drumbeat used for the instrumental. For more ATEEZ content, simply click on their name tag at the end of this post.

#. The Rose – She’s In The Rainimg_3273-1 Finally The Rose comes into the mix. Another one of my favourite K-bands. I really hope they get good results concerning the recent dispute with their management company. “She’s In The Rain” was the first song I heard from this group, and I immediately fell in love. The Dawn album, which contains this song, is also perfect.ย So all I did was choose my number track from it.

Well, I hope you all were at least intrigued by one or two songs. This playlist is available on YouTube and Spotify with these links: ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Youtube Winter 2020

AKMU – SAILING: Album Review

Hello everyone,

Today’s post is a review of AKMU’s latest release. If you follow my blog’s Facebook page, you will know that I have been looking forward to AKMU’s new album. I tried my best to stay away from the teasers because I wanted this review to be solely based on my initial reaction.

AKMU or AKDONG MUSICIAN is a South Korean sibling duo. The duo consists of Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Su-hyun. They just released their third full album titled SAILING.

“How Can I Love The Heartbreak, You’re The One I Love”ย is the title track of this album.

Reaction to Official MV of the title track:ย

  • It starts off very smooth, so I am already in love.
  • I forgot how much I loved hearing Su-hyun sing. Her voice is so beautiful.
  • And those distinctive AKMU harmonies. I really missed them.
  • Chan-hyuk is such an incredible songwriter and producer, and his voice has matured so much over the years. He is really great at blending his voice into Su-hyun’s at the perfect time.
  • This is such a calming song, it soothes me. I was not in the best mood today, but this definitely helped. I know it is weird because it is a sad song, but sad songs tend to have that effect on me.
  • Yes and Amen to those soft runs from Su-hyun.
  • I really love the instrumentals on this song.
  • My first listen, and I am already sold. AKMU NEVER DISAPPOINTS.
  • The simplicity of the music video was an excellent choice because it directed my full attention to their voices. Also, simplicity does not take away from how artistic and well-directed the music video is.
  • From what I got, this song is about striving through a relationship and making things work because you really love your partner, and you know that a breakup will make you lose that love and only feel pain. But at the same time, you are also aware that with the way things are going in your relationship, a breakup is inevitable.
  • My take on it is that such a relationship is very similar to sailing. You keep on trying to stay afloat and admire all the beauty around you, but at some point, you will hit dry land.
  • I really love this song. The lyric and the emotions are very sincere and heartfelt, so it has been added to my personal playlist.
  • I hope you all enjoy listening to this song as well.

Here is a live performance of “How Can I Love The Heartbreak, You’re The One I Love” from AKMU –

Album Review: img_0934

Before I start, let me put this out there. When I listen to albums, I do not shuffle or pick particular songs because I want to follow the given arrangement. I believe that every singer has a reason for why they place certain songs at a certain point in an album. So if you just shuffle it on your first listen, you might miss the beauty and message that the singer was trying to send.

With that said, let us get right into it –

  1. Chantey – Su-hyun’s voice gave me a nice surprising feeling at the start. Love the mix between the guitar and the classical instruments accompanying her voice. This is such an appropriate opening song. It gives you some insight into the theme of the album and also leaves you anticipating how the next nine songs will sound. I really needed more time with “Chantey,” but I can understand the artistic decision behind making it that quick.
  2. Fish in the water –ย It starts out being a bit more upbeat and quite country like with the instrumentals. Chan-hyuk’s voice on this song really stood out to me. I found my self just swaying my head from side to side, and I think this might end up being one of my favourites from the album.
  3. How can I love the heartbreak, you’re the one I love –ย I already wrote about this, so nothing to add here. It still remains a soothing song for me.
  4. Moon –ย The beginning of each song so far is really captivating. Usually, some songs take a few seconds or a minute before really getting into the groove. But for this album, each song just gets to me from the instant it starts playing. ‘Moon’ is a lovely song. It seems like something I might hear at a coffee shop because it has that perfect balance between a soft and upbeat sound.
  5. FREEDOM –ย I knew “Moon” was leading up to something even more surprising because the pre-chorus on this is divine (the part right before the instrumental chorus is what I’m referring to). I love the singing style they used here. It is incredible, and I just found another favourite.
  6. Should’ve loved you more –ย WHAT?!!!๐Ÿ˜ฎ. The rock intro and chorus goes hard on this one. Another song on this album that made me want to dance. I love how their voices get higher towards the chorus section. Amazing arrangement. One reason why I really admire AKMU is that they make the choruses of their songs very memorable. Another favourite, and at this point, I might end up adding the entire album to my playlist.
  7. Whale –ย The rhythm for this song is so groovy, and the whistling chorus just took it to another level. “Whale” definitely has an Rnb/neo-soul feel to it, and then at some point, we have some Spanish influences on the instrumentals. Every aspect of the song fits so well together. I think that this will be an excellent song for ballroom dancing. So far, I think this album is my favourite for the year.
  8. Endless dream, good night –ย This seems to be the only song that took me a few seconds to really get into. By the 0:43 minute mark, when they started singing together, I began enjoying it more. The arrangement for this is quite simple compared to the other songs on the album. It is still a beautiful and soothing song because simplicity always works. Can I mention again how much I love their harmonization? Their harmonies are always tight.
  9. Farewell –ย I see what they are doing here. We are at the end, so the songs are getting softer now, and we are getting that standard AKMU sound. I am not sure of how else to explain it, so go ahead and listen to a good number of songs from their discography to get what I mean by the “standard AKMU sound.” Also, Su-hyun’s voice on this is breathtaking, and the harmonica section in this song gave me chills (I think it is a harmonica, but correct me if I am wrong).ย “Farewell” is a perfect lullaby. The only problem I have with this song is that it ends. Another song where I needed more time๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿ˜ฅ. I guess I will have to overuse the replay button for a while.
  10. Let’s take time –ย This is a perfect song to close the album. It has an uplifting and hopeful feel to it. Chan-hyuk and Su-hyun sound incredible on this track. I no longer have words to describe how perfect the entire album is, so just go ahead and listen to it.

Here is a video of AKMU discussing their album and Chan-hyuk’s book called Fish in the Water. They also performed some of the songs. The video has English subtitles, so just turn on your CC button. Enjoy –

34 MINUTES AND 58 SECONDS OF MY TIME WELL SPENT WITH NO SINGLE REGRET. THANK YOU, AKDONG MUSICIAN.

Yes, I ended up adding the entire album to my playlist. I could not live with the idea of not having such a masterpiece accessible to me at all times. AKMU always does this to me because so far, I have all their albums, singles and OSTs downloaded on Spotify, and I am not complaining.ย I am happy that they are already dominating the Korean charts with this release because they deserve it, andย I wish them more success.

My Rating for this album is 10/10

That is it for this post, loves. Here is another lovely song from AKMU to check out after listening to SAILING ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•.

My Winter Playlist

My very own winter playlist created for you all to enjoy, and I also added short previews for each song.

#. 1415 – When It Snowsimg_2072

This song was recommended by a friend, and she got me to quickly watch the music video for it because Nam Joo Hyuk features as the main character for the video. It was my first time listening to 1415. After my first listen, I went on to check out their other releases.ย It isย a very calm and soothing song, so I wanted to share it with you all. Hopefully, you enjoy it like I did.

#. 1415 – I Am Blueimg_2078

Yes, another song from 1415. They are amazing, and I hope that they get the recognition that their music deserves.ย “I am Blue” is a more upbeat song compared to “When It Snows”ย and the instrumentals on this song is absolutely beautiful.

#. Zion. T, Lee Moon Sae – Snowimg_2079

Hands down, this is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever listened to. I expect nothing less from Zion. T, he is an amazing artist. Also, the fact that he featured Lee Moon Sae, a well recognized older generation singer, made this song even more beautiful. If you have never listened to anything from Lee Moon Sae, I recommend the song “Whistle.”

#. Primary, OHHYUK, Lim Kim – Gondryimg_2073

Ohhyuk’s voice in every song I have heard from him continuously takes me by surprise. When I first listened to “Gondry,” I was completely in awe. No matter how many times I listen to this song, I keep on asking myself how someone can be blessed with such an amazingly rich set of pipes. It is not really the notes but rather the emotion that his voice adds to each song. I honestly hope that you all come to appreciate his voice and music just like I do after listening to this song.

#. Yang Da Il, Hyolyn – And Thenimg_2086

Yang Da Il caught my attention with his soundtracks from Korean dramas like Hospital Ship and Bride Of The Water God. But I was still never compelled to check out his actual songs. I came to know of this particular song through Spotify radio, and I was so mad at myself for such a late discovery. Also, with a feature like Hyolyn, who has a really enchanting voice, this turned out to be such a tasteful and relaxing song.

#. Primary, OHHYUK – Islandimg_2073

This is such a laid back song for me. Whenever this song plays, I find myself just snapping my fingers and rocking my head from side to side. It is quite an odd dance if seen in person, but that is just me being me. So do let me know what sort of moves this song ignites from you.

#. John Park – Thought Of Youimg_2084

The only song I knew from John Park before this month was “My Best,” which features Huh Gak. I never dived further into the discography of both singers until this month. So this song is one of my recent findings. I absolutely enjoy every minute of listening to “Thought Of You.” It is such a feel-good song, and it lightens up my mood.

#. MISIA, HIDE (GReeeeN) – Ainokatachiimg_2091

This happens to be one of the first Japanese songs I listened to that was not from an anime. Sometime last year, I decided that I would like to hear what Japan’s music scene had to offer. So with my search, I came across Mika Nakashima and then she led me to discover MISIA. I really love this song because of the hopeful and uplifting atmosphere that it exudes. I have since then discovered other Japanese songs that I enjoy once in a while.

#. Jia Jia – Happiness Comingimg_2090

“Happiness Coming” was featured in the Taiwanese drama Rock ‘n’ Road. This is a very calm and steady song, it gives off the feeling of not wanting to give up and hoping for the best no matter what. When I first heard this song, I was in a bad place, so I really needed that message. I am so happy that I discovered Jia Jia through this song because she is an awesome singer and really great at conveying emotions.

#. John Park – Smileimg_2085

Another John Park song that soothes my soul, it is soย soft and cozy. The way he starts the song with such a low register is really captivating. It is the perfect winter song to play while warming up by the fireplace with a cup of warm french vanilla. I specifically stated french vanilla because I do not drink coffee, and I am also not the biggest fan of hot chocolate. Anyways “Smile” is a great cafe mood song. I hope you all enjoy it.

#. Eddy Kim – When Night Fallsimg_2082

“When Night Falls” is the first soundtrack for the Korean drama While You Were Sleeping. I hardly know anything about the singer Eddy Kim, but I acknowledge that he has a lovely voice. I really love the slight whispering/falsettoย tone that he uses during the chorus of the song. It felt like he was speaking directly to me, and I always enjoy that personal feeling in any song.

#. Akdong Musician(AKMU) – Way Back Homeimg_2088

I absolutely adore Akmu. They have their own unique style. I tend to appreciate such stand-out artists more. I have listened to all their albums, but Winterย is my favourite season-themed album. So if you have not listened to this album already, do check it out, and I promise that you will not be disappointed. I decided to add the song “Way Back Home” to this playlist because it is one of my favourite songs from the album.

#. Bii – I Will Miss Youimg_2080

I already wrote about my love for Bii in a previous post, and if you have not read that, here is a link –ย Star Showcase: BII. “I Will Miss You” perfectly showcases why I love Bii. His songs are so soothing and very easy to remember. All his songs have very catchy melodies that stay stuck in your head for days. Plus, he has a beautiful voice to back that up, so I cannot help but love this artist.

#. Ra. D – Just Missing Youimg_2087

Now the drama for which this song is associated with is quite gloomy. When I first watched the drama Just Between Lovers, I was too focused on the story to notice any of the original soundtracks. I only came to realize the beauty of this song just recently. This is such a well-arranged piece of music, most especially the chorus. I could not help but sing along with the few English lyrics I could understand, and I plan to check out the artist because I AM REALLY IMPRESSED.

#. Akdong Musician(AKMU) – Liveimg_2088

Another great song from Akmu. “Live” is my number one song from the album Winter. I sincerely admire the brother and sister duo, Lee Chan-hyuk, for his songwriting skills and Lee Su-hyun for her vocal talents. Right from the time I saw them in the Korean audition program, Kpop Star, they have never produced a bad song. Like I said, their style is unique, so not everyone might get right into it, but that aside, they are amazing together.

#. Park Hyo Shin – Beautiful Tomorrowimg_2089

If you do not know of the vocal prowess that is Park Hyo Shin, please waste no more time. I advise that you start with his song, “Wild Flower.” This guy is a vocal beast and never fails to wow his listeners. His music is really touching. He tends to release songs that reflect his life experiences, so that makes it more relatable. This particular song, “Beautiful Tomorrow” is a powerful and smooth ballad, and the entire song is accompanied only by a piano.

#. South Club – Hug Meimg_2092

Right from his time as a member of the Korean pop groupย Winner to when he became the main singer for the Korean band South Club. Nam Taehyun has always been one of my top vocalists. He has such a soft and smooth voice. This song “Hug me” is really comforting, but you can still feel the hint of sadness in his voice. I am not certain about the kind of guitar that was used in this song, but South Club definitely has great talents among them.

#. Park Hyo Shin – Breathimg_2089

Another great song from the master himself. His album I am A Dreamer has a great set of songs to enjoy. My favourites, according to preference, are “Wild Flower,” “Breath,” “Home,” and “Beautiful Tomorrow.” This is another solid ballad from Park Hyo Shin. The message of the song is amazing, so I hope you all enjoy this song, as well.

#. Paul Kim – Me After Youimg_2094

I seem to always find the good songs so late. I need to get my game together and seek out more treasures like this song. This is another beautiful and well-produced piece. Paul Kim’s delivery on this song is charming. “Me After You” is a great love song, and I absolutely enjoy listening to it.

#. Noel – How About Youimg_2095

If you are not aware already, Noel is actually a ballad group consisting of four equally amazing singers. Their voices are so alluring, and I always find myself playing their songs on repeat. They are quite older in the Korean music scene and have earned the well-deserved respect and recognition from other artists. “How About You” is a great release from them, so I hope you all enjoy listening to this song as well.

So there it is, this is the end of my list, but I am sure there many other songs that ooze coziness for this cold winter season. So feel free to leave me your song selections in the comments.ย To hear the full versions of any of these listed songs Here is a link to the YouTube playlist I created –ย YouTube Winter Playlist

Till my next post, take care.
